‘Chinese Taipei’ Unsuitable For Chen’s APEC Bid.

In a meeting with Republic of Korea special envoy Kim Jong-hoon last week, Chen Shui-bian said he was willing to attend the upcoming informal summit among leaders of the member countries of the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum slated to be held in Pusan in November as “representative” of “Chinese Taipei.”

Despite Taiwan’s hope that cross-strait cooperation will stop Internet crime, China again rejected Taiwan’s proposal recently in a working meeting of the APEC forum, a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said yesterday.
